David, Thanks for the post. The S/N is 342661 and has "Field" stamped below it, but has no letters in it. It is a 12ga., which as far as I can tell from the chart on this site, puts it built in 1913. Appreciate you checking that if you would. I know it could cost a good bit, but I want to make sure this gun is preserved for my children and their children. I am from Baton Rouge, LA, so if anyone knows of a good smith that knows LC Smiths, please let me know.
