age and value of L.C. Smith shotgun Archived Message

My father has a 10 gauge, double barrel hammered shotgun that was passed on to him. I am trying to determine the age and value of the gun. It has Hunter Arms Co. Makers, Fulton, N.Y. stamped on the barrel, L.C. Smith is stamped on each side, and the following is stamped under the barrel on what I believe is referred to as the bed (PA-DMAR 29,83)(77950)(F). I believe the - could be what is left of a T to make it say PAT. I also believe the 77950 and F are serial number and grade. Please help.
