That is indeed a pretty serious break; but it does not appear that repair attempts have been performed on the wood at this point. Unless you really want to replace the original stock; there are wood magicians who, with the aid of reinforcing pins and modern super epoxy glues we have today, can perform seeming miracle repairs. I suggest you have the gun evaluated by a professional (and this is a gun to which you should give serious consideratioo to a full restoration) prior to making a final decision. Post your location and ask for recommendations.
