Ms. Forrest, You may look up, using this site the date of manufacture of your inherited gun. This site is not allowed to be used for sale purposes-ATF rules. However I suspect you have a fairly valuable gun, so do not jump at the first offer. I would go to several auction site(Gunsamerica.com) and get prices on similar guns, THEN decide how you wish to sell your father's gun. Best, Dr. BILL
