Many original Smith guns of all grades have undergone aftermarket alterations, stocking, etc.; but the simple answer to your questions is yes, an English style grip and beavertail forearm were options provided on the Ideal Grade gun. We would be unable to determine if the stocks on your gun are original to the gun without examination.
