To echo what has been said above, "don't do it!!!" It sould be remembered that L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. dropped out of the 10-gauge market pretty early, leaving it to Ithaca Gun Co. and Parker Bros. All L.C. Smith 10-gauge guns were made during the days when the heaviest factory available smokeless powder 10-gauge shells were 4 1/4 drams equiv. and 1 1/4 ounces of shot. The 2 7/8 inch Super-Ten shell with 1 5/8 ounches of shot was brought out by Western Cartridge Co. in the middle 1920s, after L.C. Smith/Hunter Arms Co. was out of the 10-gauge market.
