Alcan zinc shotshell hull Archived Message

I just recieved two 12 gauge "zinc" shotshell hulls. My friend works in the metal trades and he uses the parethesis around the word zinc. The hull body has a waviness like serveral sheets were pressed together to make the hull body.

The hulls are 2 3/8th inches in length (measure twice, type once!). It has 209 primer pocket. The headstamp appears to be copper and marked Alcan, mfc usa, 12 and Incorporated in that order. The rim is a copper color. Does anyone have any info on this type of shell?
