    Perrin, your gun dates to 1901, "00" is the grade, after 1913 your gun was now a Field Grade. The patent dates March 20, 1883-Breech loading mechanism, joint and ejector system. July 13, 1886, Lock mechanism for concealed hammer guns, Oct. 5, 1886 Safety catch for gun locks.
    As far as hunting turkeys with it, I would be careful with todays shells. They are much to powerful to use in these old guns. You should be staying with shells that are 8,000 psi and lower. Most turkey shells are a lot higher than that. You might be able to find someone to reload some low-pressure turkey loads by using the max psi of 8,000 and substituting #4's. With the 30" barrels and the full choke you should do all right. I would pattern it beforehand.
