Robert, read the thread titled "so you want a RBL" You will see a recently color cased piece by Classic Guns of Beecher , Ill. The owner of this piece is a machinest and he took real close measurements prior to sending the parts out for color casing. When the parts returned, he measured them and as he told me, "they didn't even move a ten thou. of an inch. Read all of this thread as the first pictures aren't as good by far as the second picture. As a side note, I have been sending firearms to Classic for 8 years without one problem --- I have packaged 3 LC Smiths , a Personal Baker sidelock , a 20 Ithica NID that have been placed in Reg, USPS mail to them today for color case. Next week I will be sending a Win 21 for carbonia blue. All these guns have been heavily engraved and I can assure you , they will come back perfect !! I average about 30 pieces a year to this co. and have always been pleased with their work. Please keep in mind that there are places who do this work that can have ill effects on a gun, Classic isn't. I;m making a bold statement but I do so with 48 years experience in the trade. Ken
