I have just purchased an LC Smith 16ga field grade. I was looking at the marking on the gun and they are for the most part shown in Brophy I know that fw stand for feather weight. And the bottom of the barrels are marked Armor Steel. the only thing I can't identify is the letter S on the water table below the FW. Is this just an inspectors mark. Any help is most appreciated.
