With permission of the Cody museum, a new grades recap was performed for publication in the new Smith guns book, which is being shipped as this is written. I don't recall the final numbers for total guns shipped in Pigeon Grade; but I can tell you there was almost no difference in numbers recorded for the various grades in this latest study than what was originally recorded by Col. Brophy. I can't recall if the new book will break down barrel lenghts (I do know a gauge breakdown is included; but, as regards 32" barrels on Pigeon Grade guns, I would suspect the majority were shipped with 30" barrels but 32" tubes were very popular on Smith guns and I therefore doubt they would be uncommon.
