if the barrels are in " great shape " go ahead and shoot it with low pressure loads , nitro or black powder . I shoot both my Parker and Remington " twist damascus " barrel hammer guns every week with nitro loads [ in the 6500psi range - reloads ] with no ill effect . There are friends I shoot with that also have twist barrel guns - Lefever , L.C.S. , Remingtons , Parkers - all with nito loads , none have had any problems - Paul
