Question about Barrel Lug on 3" Long Range Archived Message

Posted by David W on December 22, 2006, 3:32 pm

I'm curious as to what is meant by having a re-enforced barrel lug that some of these people are searching for on their "elsies".

Brophy explains that a wider and heavier splinter was added to the barrels of both Long Range and Wild Fowl, because of the heavy reoil.
Also states that "The only change made in the gun was to increase the length of the chamber for the newly developed 3" 12 guage shell."

Now if someone could clarify this or post pictures of the two different styles I think it would help a great deal for a few that are still in query.
    Thanks
