    The answer is no; but a manual extractor gun can be converted to an ejector model with additional work. First of all the iron must be for the same frame size/type as the subject gun being converted. After the iron is fitted, the manual extractor rod is removed from the barrels and replaced with a two piece ejector stem unit. These manual and ejector pieces don't simply interchange. The ejector stems have a stablizing pin (which keeps this two piece unit from rolling sideways when the gun is opened) that requires a precisely drilled hole bedneath
    each chamber. Bottom line, due to the fact that the Smith ejector mechanism is fully contained within the fore iron, such a conversion can be accomplished; but doing so requires modifications to the barrels that should never be attempted by someone who is not sufficiently skilled.
