Recently received a 12 gauge field grade hammer gun with both hammer spurs broken off. Relative said it happened in the early 50's while trying to save things from a house fire. They are of the same style (late?) as the replacement blanks available from Dixie.
Trying to restore to shooting condition as gun is otherwise in excellent shape. Have been looking for almost a year throught various web contacts, Dixie, Numrich, local gunsmiths and gun shows in TX, LA, AR and OK, but have not found anything that was not all beat to H____.
In need of a matching pair of hammers, no cracks or rust pits, brown patina fine/desirable.
Please contact by email ASAP if you have a pair you would part with at a reasonable price. Pix would be nice but full description OK. Would like to have 5 day inspection period.
This gun is too nice not to be put back into the field. Please help.
