Jessie, WELCOME! Glad you found our site, hope you choose to join our group. Regarding ascertaining value, I suggest the Blue Book of Gun Values-it is published yearly and is a great starting point as well as a primer on how "value" is established. I'd also suggest the various buying sites. I prefer Gunsamerica.com as everything is "up-front" and no spurious "bids" can happen. However they all will give you a sense of what your gun is worth. Finally the various retail dealers are also very good sources of information as well as good photos of what is being sold. The "hunt" for information is very entertaining.
