Fulton guns & grades-including the Hunter's SpecialArchived Message

I have been reading on the forum about Fulton's and have some questions and answers. I know there are a lot of knowledgable people on this forum - farmers they may be - but very smart farmers. My first question in regard to the grade of Fulton's - according to my information and from the Double Gun Journal, the Book of Gun Values the Fulton had no checkering or engraving. If this is true, then the Fulton Special had checkering and the word "Fulton" on the side of the frame, with light engraving. The Hunter's Special, according to the Book of Gun Values was the same as the Fulton Special, except for it's L.C. Smith rotary lock. As I have been to numerous gun shows and owned several Fulton's, Hunter's Special as well as L.C. Smith guns, I have never seen but one Fulton that had a plain stock and fore-end. If anyone can shed some light on this, hopefully with pictures, this would be of great help. I am thoroughly confused now. And one more thing, I have never seen any Fulton or Hunter's Special with a cap on the pistol grip. Thanks, Marvin
