    Ronnie, you stated that you cannot break it down. The serial numbers are usually loacated on the bottom of the barels (watertable),on the receiver's watertable, and also on the forend metal. Unfortunately, this means breaking it down.
    Does the top lever move when you try to open it?
    If I may suggest before you take it to the gunsmith, spray a little WD-40, or Kroil oil on the hinge pin, and where the metal meets the receiver(oval in shape). Let it sit for a day or overnight and try moving the lever and put the receiver in your lap and gently push down on the barrels and see if it wants to move.
