Over the years I've owned and shot many LC Smith guns and have never experienced the problem you have described with either fired or unfired shells; but then I've never tried the Federal loads you describe either. The bottom line is that there should not be a problem with the gun; but, to be sure, have your gunsmith measure your chambers to make sure they aren't a little tight. If they are fine, and I'm assuming they are since you don't have problems with the Winchesters, call Federal and describe the problem you have encountered. Brass shell heads do expand on firing; if they did not, reloading machinces wouldn't have a resizing station. It is my thinking that Federal may need to recheck the brass heads (or possibly the base wad configuration) they are using with these loads; but I applaude their efforts marketing a low-pressure offering, and I hope all vintages shooters support them (once the kinks are ironed out).
