Questions about my 20 gauge LC Smith Archived Message

I own an LC Smith (#202840) Field grade, auto ejectors, single trigger (modified I believe). I've owned the gun for 25 years and my neighbor previously owned it for about 25+ years. It does not have a butt plate but instead has a checkered buttstock. Is this original (13" from trigger to butt)? I thought I read in Brophy's book some years ago that they sold some guns that way!! Previous owner said he bought it that way in the mid fifties and it was his wife's gun. Probably has been fired less than 100 times in 50 years. Bluing almost 100% and stock beautiful. 26" barrels and bores look virtually unused. One of these days I may part with it. What would be the value these days? It's a beauty........ I'd add a picture or two if I knew how..
