My wife's aunt, with her husband, owned Strick's, a roadhouse in Southern Maryland, within sight of the DC line, where Roy Clark, Jimmie Dean, and other famous entertainers got their starts. Their son still owns and operates Strick's, but today it is an iron bar liquor store, not a honky tonk, like it was in earlier times. Back then, you needed to fight, either to get in or get out. Linda's uncle got killed in a gunfight with robbers, but took down a couple of them before succumbing to his injuries.
