Thank you so-much Mr. Williamson! So...this square lugged and elaborately shaped Quality 2 is indeed a "Syracuse" gun that happened to be made in Futon? If I remember correctly, Houchins even mentions in his tome that these guns were included in with Syracuse production numbers.

I just heard that this gun is headed back my way from Terry Nicholson after a complete overhaul (evidently, it's 1st ever), deep cleaning and a
re-checkering. Really looking forward to seeing it again.
