I recently purchased a Marlin produced LC Smith shotgun and ordered a research letter. Based on published information on each years production (1968-71), the reported first S/N and my gun's S/N 583XX I assumed mine was made in late 1970, but the reseach letter says 1969. Am I missing something? Also, are the complete factory records for these guns available. A small portion is includedd in the Summer 2021 Journal, but not the portion with my shotgun. Thanks in advance for any info.
