1. The barrels were 30 inches long, which seems kind of long for a 16 bore
2. I determined that the chokes were very tight. In fact the right barrel was full choke and the left barrel was extra full choke. It would appear that this 16 gauge is really a waterfowl gun.
I know that 12 and 10 gauge shotguns were most common for water-fowling around 1904, so I would assume that a 16 gauge like this would be significantly less common?
