Doug it doesn't look like it has been tampered with much, the screws look good as does the wood.
Are the barrels London Steel and how long? Has the second style ejectors with the 3rd style for-end release.
I have a soft spot for 16's and if the barrels are sound would be a good candidate for refinishing.
