Your gun is from 1884-85 and is a Syracuse L.C. Smith. The F grade was the lowest priced hammer gun made and cost $55.00 then, about $1700 today. Some of these guns are still in use today after being looked at by someone that knows L.C. Smith's, not your run-of-the mill gunsmith.
If your ever get a chance to take off the lock plate/s look and see if there is a pat date of Nov. 27,1883 on one of them. This was a patent for the bar action lock to fit into a side plate.
