Whoever does the repair will thank you.
If you are able to disassemble it without causing further damage you should probably do so.
Cover both ends of the break with pieces of bubble wrap and secure with rubber bands.
I'm only a hobbyist but I have had good luck repairing these by gluing back together with Titebond, then in a cradle on the mill, cut a channel under the trigger guard almost the full depth of the wrist and full length of the trigger guard.
Fit a reinforcing piece (walnut, oak, or plywood) with plenty of thickened epoxy into that channel, then recut the inletting for the trigger guard, again in a cradle on the table of the mill.
All the repair is under the trigger guard so it's invisible when completed and very likely stronger than original.
