From the turn of the last century going forward, I know what to expect when looking at lower to mid-grade LC Smith gun, but the early guns are fairly mysterious to me. When the Hunters took over and set up operations in Fulton, NY where there any features that were considered "standard"? Things like English walnut, three-position safeties, pattern-welded barrels, two triggers, specific butt plates, bushed firing pins, etc. I'm assuming a "standard gun" then would have been something very-much like the early (2nd year) "O" grade I just put my money on. Do these early guns share any features with the earlier Syracuse, NY guns that preceded them? Short of me buying one of the "books" here (which I may do anyway), is there an inventory of photography somewhere that I can examine? I was actually a member here for a short time, many years ago (30?) and it seems to me that this site was more photograph-rich then. What became of all that photography?
