Hello,
I'm currently in the process of restoring an LC Smith Field grade longe Range with 3" chambers and 32" barrels. While stripping down the gun for cleaning I noticed what looks like a small hole in the reciever. It looks as though the corner of the top lever spring is poking through the thin wall of the top lever spring slot. I also noticed that the wall thickness in that area around the cocking rods isn't symmetrical left to right.
My question is if this was an intentional aspect of the LC smith design or if I have a more serious issue here?
I've attached a couple of pictures here as well, with the area of concern shown via the blue arrow.
