Here is what I have
Restocked 3E pigeon grade frame (no safety) s/n 2086xx; Patent stamps on water table 7/13/1886 and 10/5/1886
Splinter banjo roller 2022xx; Patent stamp 5/28/1901
Barrels 2022xx stamped same as splinter. Crown steel, 27 7/8" long, F/F, stamped 2E on bottom of upper right barrel when removed with muzzle to the left.
Gun has been restocked very nicely. Straight wrist stock (English). Was going have it checkered but afraid any checkering would be asking fragile area to become more fragile. Wood oriented wrong way in the wrist.
To me this gun looks like someone dearly loved it. They built a gun from parts as frame does not match splinter and barrel stampings. They spent some $$ on the restocking. To find matching barrels for the frame would be a fools errand.
Seeking recommendations for semi-local gunsmith that can work the 2E barrels and splinter to make them come off normally. Banjo roller rolls but the tight is extremely tight fit. Only way to remove splinter is to do the clothes pin trick.
Pics available upon request.
