The short answer is... it depends...One of the first pieces of advice I received from Mike Harris when I joined the club was to "buy the barrels first". If the firearm as a whole was deemed in good shape after a thorough inspection by a competent and knowledgeable person I personally would not worry to much about the screws on a 16 gauge Specialty grade being somewhat marred or only out of being level by 1/16 of an inch. But this advice comes from someone who is more of a hunter and shooter than a collector.
Is this piece going to be used for shooting, hunting, trade, investment, or is it a rare one of a kind collectible? If it is being sold as mint, never been touched collectible for 6 figures....then it may be reason enough to not buy it.
Happy Hunting
Mike
