Re: 2nd Bead, good? bad?
Not in my opinion. Although the extra bead represented a slight additional cost option, twin beads are never considered in evaluating the condition of original finishes; nor does the extra bead add anything to the value of a gun to my knowledge. Condition assessments are based on amount of remaining original case color, barrel blue, stock finishes, mechanical condition, condition of bores, and after-market modifications (if any); the higher these factors are judged, the greater is a gun's value. But condition is just one valuation factor, as besides condition factors such as grade of gun, rarity, bore size, and provenance can have a huge impact on value; while about all a mid-bead contributes to a gun's desirability is in esthetics as that feature appeals to some shooters.
