I was browsing John Houchins book L. C. Smith "The Legend Lives" and found this letter shown on page 484 from The Hunter Arms Co., Inc. Explaining the long range Wild Fowl gun in 1942, it also addresses that the government was purchasing all 12 gauge guns including the Wild Fowl gun as fast as they could finish them, this may explain why some of the Wild Fowl marked guns are not shown in the records. Just a thought.
