Re: Replacement 12g Field Barrels
Most likely those barrels are choked full and full and it's probably those very tight chokes that are handicapping your ability to shoot the gun much more so than barrel length. Chokes can be easily opened by a good gunsmith, or you can try spreader loads; either purchased commercially or home rolled. Charlie Brooks has a great article in the last issue of the LC Smith Journal with directions/recipes for loading spreader loads. I'd try one of those two alternatives prior to finding and fitting another barrel set.
