Safety Behind Trigger

Hello! This is my first time posting in here. I have an LC Smith shotgun that was handed down from my grandfather. I never could find a picture of one quite like this one online. It has a safety behind the triggers. Has anyone seen this before or have any information on the year it was manufactured? The serial number stamped in it is 4035.
