What do you think of this unique approach to a firing pin repair. Just file down the old broken firing pin flat and then insert a cut/filed nail head. There was even oil placed between the two pieces of the firing pin. Must have worked for a long time.
I shared this with a gunsmith friend in Iowa and he shared the following:
“10d nails are used a lot in barn yard gunsmithing...probably half the guns I’ve seen “worked on” involved pins, screws and rivets made from 10d nails.”
Anyone seen this before? LOL !!
