New to Club - Inherited Dads 12g Field Grade

Hey all - just joined today. My father passed in Feb, he collected all sorts of firearms, and also crafted a few - mostly black powder rifles. My brother and I split the inventory, and I am now a very curious owner of what I believe to be a 1909 12g Field Grade LC Smith - #323599-0. I have seen the serial number under the forend. Dad had it on an insurance inventory as a No. 0. I looked up the serial number and the year is my best guess. I have no idea when it was last shot or cleaned. It is solid, but definitely a well used gun. I am looking for a gunsmith in the Los Angeles area who can determine if it is still in working condition. I have no plans to part with it - I want to use it, but I know it needs a good tune up so to speak. Really looking forward to learning more about this shotgun and possibly meeting others locally to get back into shooting. Kat Harris kharris1025@gmail.com Van Nuys, CA
