It was standard policy at the gun works to choke all guns full and full UNLESS the customer specified otherwise. I wouldn't allow tighter chokes to impact my decision to purchase the gun provided I liked everything else about the gun; and I've have had choke/s opened on several guns I've owned. I have a few boxes of spreader loads but don't really like to use them on game based on my experience. If I were you I'd consider the choke needed for the type shooting I have planned, then open the chokes accordingly. Done correctly opening chokes will have no negative impact on the gun's value; and is usually not an expensive operation to perform.
