Thanks Tom - Yes, a "little" out of price range means it's not happening for me, but I held that gun for a long time and brought it to my shoulder many times. I have to admit, my eyes watered a little as I put that grand old girl back in the rack knowing it was not to be.

The only thing missing on that A-1 is the convex ribs on the underside, a feature I always associate with A-1s, even though it was discontinued in later guns. The description says the earlier A-1s had more elaborate engraving, but I find the total opposite to actually be true (just look at the side locks on my A-1 compared to the 16 gauge).

In any event, great old guns that still can do the job!
