Well, you've answered one question. The "bluing" that remains is more of a black than a blue. That being the case, and because I like things original (or as much as possible), I may leave them alone.

Is there anyone who does the bluing like an original Smith?

I'll post some pictures of the butt plate i put on. But I'll do that under a different thread.
