That would hold for a short time but if I remember correctly it's going to be relatively hard to control the heat to the ribs when trying to get the solder to flow thoroughly where the barrel hook contours to the barrels. Even if everything is wired up it seems that what starts out as solid ribs turn into loose ribs after things are heated and cooled. I've done this several times and I would not consider myself an expert but those are the things I would consider. If you are doing the work and it doesn't last your not out much more than time but if your having to have it done then it would be bad to pay for a temporary repair only to have it break after a few rounds and then have to go back and have it done correctly.
