Re: Latest L.C. Smith publication magazine
The gun was ordered around December 1896 and received early 1897. Don't remember exact days as my brains are in storage. Just moved to Montana. The gun is signed by Glahn on the upper tang. I purchased the gun at an estate auction back east not knowing any of this until I contact Jim who filled me in after I bought it. Unfortunately the stock had been replaced due to the previous owner was a big guy that wanted a 16" length of pull. The auction house supplied all the paper work on the stock replacement. I thought it might be the gun that Drew mentions in one of his posts above for Wanda but the date received was later than the January date, so I figured it was Milton's. I have information on a grand american shoot I believe in 1898 or maybe 1899 where the guns being shot were listed including the shells. Milt gun weight was 7 lbs 12 ounces and Wanda was two ounces heavier, which seemed strange for hoe petit she was. It is a beautiful gun and I feel it is one of my top pieces.
