Before he passed my father gave me an L C Smith 12 gauge side by side with external hammers. His grandfather gave it to him when he was 12 in 1937.
The only markings on the receiver I could find were 70278 E. Can anyone tell me when it was manufactured or anything else about it? It is in not the best of shape and I have not decided if I want to have it restored.
