Re: 28 gauge??!!!! Never heard of one.
The question probably relates to the Elsie just sold on the 2d on Gunslinger Auction. It is an OOE with 26" barrels, ser.# 5723, featherweight shown in the records as a 20 ga. manufactured in 1910. The extra photos show barrels marked "steel" with that word engraved in the correct spot. Everything about the barrels look correct for an OO except no word "Armor". The gun is heavily engraved and gold inlayed but not an upgrade and not the best engraving. Wood is all new. The Frame water table has been poorly machined and the forend iron is heavily buffed. The barrels are 28 ga. and not sleeved. This is either a lunchbox 28 ga. or an odd counterfeit. Do the experts have different opinion?
