Thanks David. That's exactly what all of mine look like. If you look closely, you'll also note that at "rest", one cannot insert or remove a shell because the action is not opened far enough. The shell would hang up on the top of the breech going in and hot the breech face coming out. All one has to do is help the action opened a little farther for proper funtion. I once had one of mine corrected by a shop that I will not name. It was not a good idea. I then took it to Kenneth Myers in New Oxford Pa who had to weld and reshape the end of the cocking lever to bring it nack to proper function. It works fine now, but is as originally designed. I would say getting used to a little help in opening is the best option.
