Re: Codes on barrels of 1942 L C Smith
Check Brophy at page 182. Also, if you do a search of this site, you should find several strings that provide a lot of additional information about these guns. I don't know why they bought any 20's either; I've seen speculation they were officers' guns (whatever that might mean). My one gun with military markings, and most of the others I have seen, all have the standard marks -- flaming bomb, crossed cannons, RLB ( the inspector's initials).
