Crazy huge 20 foot diorama for Windy city

REason I wasn't on last week...busy doing this, creating a Winter Wonderland Christmas Party diorama for our doll meeting.

I experimented in the basement---with a basic backdrop, lights/trees, snow and started work on a lit dance floor.

The dance floor would be adjacent to the band and singer stage area...with some sort of seating.

I used a chunk of acrylic window replacement I had that was 18"x24"...supported on wood beams mounted to foamcore, and lights taped down. Here the lights were just tossed on the floor.

I used clear washable kids glue to decoupage the snowflake tissue to the underside of the floor. Supposedly I will be able to remove it by soaking in water.

The stage has footlights from the same string of lights as the dance floor. The base is a hunk of packing foam from an electrical appliance covered with silver posterboard.

I recovered and made footlights for this singer stage...and added a backdrop.

Seating, since I couldn't spray paint my dollar tree chairs, I covered them in the same tissue and used some for tablecloths.

Here's dolls added at the December Meeting. Eventually it got very full, next to the dance floor was a bar/table section.

The next section was a photo op Winter gazebo...this was very popular with lots of couples having their photos taken, here.

The dance floor got a workout...under the mirror ball lights suspended between cake columns.

Frank took the stage for some great duos with Ella.

A long shot of the full 150 inches of diorama...lots of dolls arrived and participated.

Silkstones having a visit in the tables section.

A handkerchief dress and custom...
