Still suffering the effects of jet lag, but I have to say that it's good to be home. It's wonderful partying for a week with your "Barbie besties" but it's also nice to have your own pillow!

What did I love about convention? A lot of things!

You can be in a crowded airport in Denver and hear someone yell "Hi, Barbie!" and watch over a dozen heads all turn in that direction. I love that strangers whose only connection is a love of the pink plastic princess can all jam into a rental car and drive off into the Sonoran Desert looking for a place that you hope exists on the outskirts of what is otherwise desolation. Seriously. I did this. I picked up one woman in Denver and another in Palm Springs (both of them Barbies) before we all piled into my rental car and headed off in the general direction of the resort!

I love seeing people that I haven't physically seen in over a year, giving them a hug and having it be like you were never apart!

I love hanging out with my doll clubs - Queen City, Houston Doll Society, Pixie Dusters, and South Side Skirts - and knowing that I can be myself with them.

I loved making new friends and that my friend Ilana won the Weird Barbie contest at the late night lounge!

I loved finishing my second year of apprentice judging and, after next year, will be a fully certified convention judge in the vintage category!

What I didn't like? The prices. Everything was expensive. Hotel. Travel costs. Food. Even the room shopping and sales room prices were expensive. Also didn't like having to ship everything home.

Also wish I would have won the Rose doll from the Hidden Passageway raffle. Though Magia2000 designed and made the dresses, I made the tiaras the dolls wore. Would have been nice to have one as a memento of all the work. I don't even have a photo of her but am still looking!

That said, it's an experience I wouldn't trade. So here are a few more photos to wrap up my convention recap!
