I think our board is fine since its principal goal isn't selling, but sharing photos and news, as opposed to eBay and etsy which are just for selling.
Mattel has to protect its copyright on Barbie so it doesn't become a generic term for 11 1/2 inch fashion dolls. This also prevents companies that make products using the Barbie name or logo from manufacturing inferior items without licensing/permission from Mattel.
Years ago they went after any dealers, clubs, businesses, or magazines with Barbie in their names. At least back then people were warned rather than being shut down immediately.
I feel bad for sellers who were shut down, but as I said, I don't think there is any problem here.

TODAY My mailbox was full of friends/artists/Etsy/resellers this morning which have had items removed or their entire site shut down for Mattel copyright infringements. Apparently this is snowballing and covering a lot of different types of sites/individuals. The Etsy forums are filled with people with cut items, of course if you have lost your account you can't complain there.
Even as far as using a Mattel doll to demonstrate another item they are selling or even a Mattel item. Is their goal to shut down everything...anyone heard straight from Mattel on this. I just changed all my wording on my Etsy listings, but crap the dolls are there as are the accessories.
Since we are members only site here----are we protected???? here...Big Barbie is WATCHING YOU!
