so I don't know who she'd be like. But I sort of thought of the London models of the time, slim and cute, with flips and wonderful clothes, pink lipstick... But Gidget is so American, I wouldn't have connected her with Francie at all. I still don't see a visual likeness, as Francie isn't as cute/silly in my mind, as Gidget. Loved the video! The Elizabeth Taylor version of Cleopatra was released in 1963 but filmed in 1961 and 1962 so Mattel could have been inspired.
